Long Term Equestrian Development - Reining

Invitation to apply

The NBEA piloted a Long-Term Equestrian Development (LTED) Program in 2011. This program’s goal is to encourage riders to train with competition coaches. Technical skill development and education, in addition to the Rider Level requirements, prepare each rider for the competition ring. This year, in New Brunswick, more than 20 EC sanctioned competitions are planned for the 2016 show season.

The New Brunswick Equestrian Association continues to support certified coaching and competitor training for competition in all disciplines.

The Canadian Interprovincial Equestrian Championship (CIEC) was introduced in 2010. This competition, developed by the Provinces, provides an opportunity for athletes to compete as members of a Provincial Team at a National Championship competition. Participation in the CIEC has enriched NBEA’s provincially funded sport profile in several areas previously not supported. This has resulted in increased provincial sport funding for NBEA sport. Discipline teams have the opportunity to participate in Team Training Camps, Team Try Outs and Team Trials, ultimately allowing them opportunity to advance to a provincial team competing in a nationally sanctioned competition.
