Coach Initiation in Sport

The CAC is happy to announce that it is launching Coach Initiation in Sport on March 6, 2017.   Coach Initiation in Sport is an online NCCP module developed to introduce new or experienced coaches to the foundational skills in coaching, such as: long-term athlete development, ethics, coaching motivation, and athlete safety and wellness. The Coach Initiation in Sport module will also introduce coaches to the NCCP, a valuable tool for preparing a coach’s first in-person NCCP workshop.   As a special launch promotion, and to celebrate Canada’s sesquicentennial birthday, Coach Initiation in Sport will be available for FREE for 150 days. Please note, as of August 3rd, 2017, the module will cost $15.

Pre-Partners Congress 2017 Survey

We want to hear from our partners! The CAC is currently in the planning stages for Partners Congress 2017, which will be held in Gatineau from June 6-8. Partners are invited to select which topics they want to explore at this year’s congress and to take a few minutes to complete this questionnaire by March 1st.  The top choices will be added to the program.

150 Coaching Collection

In support of ParticipACTION’s 150 Play List, the CAC is happy to announce that on March 1st, 2017, we will be launching 150 Coaching Collection: Activities to Plan and Deliver in Practice, an exclusive resource with 150 activities designed for all ages and stages of development.
The CAC will be celebrating this new resource throughout the month of March, encouraging coaches to take the NCCP module Get Coaching! or the Plan a Practice NCCP workshop. Following that, coaches are encouraged to access the 150 Coaching Collection database to build a practice they can implement on Get Coaching! Day, March 28th.
The CAC supports the ParticipACTION 150 Play List initiative to get Canadians moving – and we want to see all of Canada’s coaches and their athletes using Get Coaching! and the 150 Coaching Collection resources to stay active!  If you are attending a practice or competition on March 28th, tweet using #GetCoaching to showcase your activity.
Mark your calendars and click HERE on March 1st to access 150 activities and take part in Get Coaching! Day.

Responsible Coaching Movement Champions

Did you know that more than 40 national, provincial, territorial, and local sport clubs and organizations have already taken the Responsible Coaching Movement pledge? Heads-Up!

#CoachToolKit Video Series

The CAC is expanding on its #CoachToolKit series, presented by TeamSnap. We will continue to offer the same coaching tips twice a month, but one of the two will now be offered in a video format! Every month, we will welcome a national team coach or coaching development expert into our virtual studio where they will share a coaching tip that has been very successful for them. Look for the first one on February 23rd

Coaches Plan - Expert Insight for Canada's Coaches

Coaches plan is also being reformatted! The new format, with one article now being shared monthly rather than a quarterly magazine, will allow the CAC to keep its commitment to develop and share unique and/or partner-developed content to NCCP coaches at all levels, for all sports. Readers will continue to have access to content that is packed full of ideas to spark coaching creativity with resources to help plan, prepare, and deliver exceptional coaching.
Look for the first issue of Coaches plan – Expert Insight for Canada’s Coaches in February’s Inside Coaching.
